Intro 👋

Welcome to the Valencia Codes Generative AI Hackathon.

The aim of this hackathon is to get everyone in a room for a few hours to try and play with generative AI technologies. AI hype is everywhere. And it’s easy to get caught up in that hype and forget that these are just technologies that we all need to learn how to use. And the best way to learn isn’t reading LinkedIn posts and Twitter threads, it’s trying to make things yourself.

So let’s try to figure out how these technologies work by building projects together. If you don’t finish your project, don’t worry. We’re all here to learn!

And the most important thing of all, have fun! 🥳

Hackathon rules

• Create a working prototype with generative AI which solves one of the 4 challenges (details below)
• Teams of 2 (3 maximum)
  • Contestants form their own teams
  • If you have an existing team, that’s fine
  • If you are alone, there will be 5 mins at 18:30 to create teams
  • Everyone will be wearing a nametag which says their profile e.g. business/developer
  • If you don’t have a developer on your team, don’t worry. Focus on challenge 1. There will be facilitators available to help unblock you.
• 6 projects will be chosen by the facilitators to present to the judges
• Presentation to the judges of 3 minutes, with 2 minutes for questions
• The judges will mark each presentation on:
  • Practical applications
  • Innovative use of AI
• The prizes are:

  • 1st place - SharingAway ChatGPT course for each member of the winning team
